Glow serie

Hand-made lighting.

In 2001, John Sebastian became the first external designer working in collaboration with Holmegaard Glasvaerk since Verner Panton in the 1980's. The result was more than 3 complete series that went in productions, the Glow lighting series among the most notable.

Glow Lamp is a family of lights with hand-blown opal glass diffusers with an aluminum base with models floor and table stand.

"The straight lines and the pleasant curves of the lamp give a humorous impression, and at the same time the classic idiom makes this series stong on emotional values and intensively a high value product for Holmegaard."

“To be asked to design for Holmgaard, one of the oldest companies in Denmark, with roots to the Danish royal family, was a great honour.

During the manufacturing of my design in the Holmegaard glass workshops, I was able to observe the fascinating mix of traditional skills employed by Holmegaard's craftsmen in conjunction with the most impressive state-of-the-art engineering processes including the use of sophisticated laser technology, and robotics.”
